Picture Windows: Urban Interpretations

The process of documenting his writing practice, and the physical documentation that accumulated, culminated in a piece of street art, "word pictures," commissioned by the Arts Council of Indianapolis. The piece displayed a “motion film” version of the artist's writing practice as part of the "2007 Picture Windows: Urban Interpretations" artistic makeover of windows at the Chase Tower downtown. Screen capture software enabled him to record his keystrokes during writing sessions. The films allow viewers “real time” access to the writing process, as though watching over his shoulder as he worked, complete with mistakes, corrections, cuts, pastes, pauses, the cursor.
